Snow wasn’t the only thing falling last month. According to market data released this week by the Association of Realtors, the Cape logged our lowest-EVER number of new listings for the month of February. Not only that, but new listings dipped between January and February for the first time since 2015 (which was also a brutal winter). Literally every metric we track was down for last month.
But don’t despair! There is good news on the horizon – the snow is melting, the crocuses are popping up, and the phones are ringing here at Chatelain Real Estate. Buyers and sellers alike are coming out of hibernation. If you are thinking of selling, now is the time – inventory is still depressed so new listings are getting tons of attention from pent-up buyer demand. And if you are buying, this week alone saw nearly half as many listings hit the market as during all of February – with more to come!
