5 Great Playgrounds on Cape Cod | Cape Cod Chatelains

Cape Cod is a magical place all year round.  We get to enjoy free outdoor concerts, live theater, fishing and swimming, natural splendor and so much more.  In this blog we'll focus on some of the best playgrounds to bring children of all ages.  Obviously there are many wonderful examples but we whittled the list down to five stretching from Hyannis to Orleans.  In no particular order, here they are.

Johnny Kelly Park | 168 Old Bass River Rd, South DennisJohnny Kelley Park, MA 02660

Johnny Kelley Park is a Smörgåsbord of activities for everyone.  The playground -pictured at left - is expansive with updated equipment (but we miss the dangerous merry-go-round).  The whole park includes ball fields, tennis courts, a walking and exercise trail including the Dennis Braille Trail! Interested in living close to this park?  Check out these properties for sale in Dennis and South Dennis.

Orleans Elementary School | 46 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA 02653

We love this park for its large size with two distinct areas, one for big kids, one for little kids.  It feels like one of the biggest little kid playgrounds around in fact.  Also a favorite, a rope spaceship climbing tower! Be prepared though, the playground is a little bit of a walk from the parking area.  Curious about properties for sale in Orleans?

West Dennis All Access PlaygroundWest Dennis School Playground | School St, West Dennis, MA 02670

This park is directly behind the historic West Dennis Graded School house on, you guessed it, School Street.  In addition to being a great park, its main feature is its all access status.  Rubber ground covers make mobility easier than more traditional wood chips or sand.  We also love this park because of its ample parking and proximity to several restaurants and West Dennis Beach. Check out these great properties in West Dennis.

Fred Thacher Church Street Playground | Old Church St, Yarmouth Port, MA 02675

This is a delightful playground with the added benefit of being on 6A for easy access and close to Grays Beach in Yarmouth Port if you want to take a quick dip before or after.  Looking for something in Yarmouth Port?

Veterans Park Beach | 480 Ocean St, Hyannis, MA 02601

This has a nice playground as well as volleyball nets and it sits right on the beach.  In the heat of the summer it can be busy but in the off season we love going here with the kids to enjoy the view overlooking Lewis Bay and the boats off of Hyannis Yacht Club.  Curious about Hyannis properties?
