For those of us struggling through this harsh winter, the recent arctic chill has brought more than slippery roads and high heating bills - West Dennis Beach has been the winter home of some visitors from the north! A pair of snowy owls has taken up a seasonal residence in the dunes of this south-side beach, wowing visitors from far and wide.
Snowy owls are an extremely rare sight on the Cape and this pair has attracted large crowds to the beach to get a peek or snap a picture. If you are interested in the birds, take a drive down to West Dennis and look for the crowds. The owls can be hard to spot, but the interest has been such that all you need to do is aim for the large groups of photographers and you won't be disappointed.
Good luck and happy birding!!
